Tahini Oatmeal Bowl Recipe

Creamy, dreamy tahini oatmeal recipe that's about to upgrade your breakfast “playlist”! Tahini gives a very rich and nutty flavor and it's packed with a big amount of vitamins and minerals to start your day right!

Ingredients for Tahini Oatmeal Recipe

1 Serving


½ cup oats

½ cup water or plant based milk

1-2 tbsp tahini plus extra for serving

4 tbsp chopped almonds

Maple sirup or honey+brown sugar


Toppings - play with it!

  • Use any sauteed seasonal fruits, I like,pears, apricots, peaches or banana

  • You can add cinnamon or cacao

  • Homemade or low-sugar granola for crunch!



Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan boil oats with water for a few minutes, until the oats release “oat milk” and create creamy consistency. Make sure it's not too thick. It should still be very liquid because the tahini will make it thicker.

  2. Turn off the heat, mix in the tahini and maple. Cover with a lid and let it sit for about 3 minutes.

  3. If you use honey, don't add honey to the hot porridge, you can mix in a little bit of brown sugar, but wait with the honey for the porridge to cool down, drizzle the honey on top.

  4. Another option that is also a little bit more suitable for people with diabetes is to blend 1 medjool date with water and use this sweet water in the beginning of the recipe to cook the oats. It will give a naturally sweet flavor a little bit of a caramel aroma to your porridge.

  5. Serve with rich toppings of your choice and drizzle extra tahini on top and Enjoy!
